Is GraniteStone the Right Set for You?

I’ll be honest; I won my granite stone stackmaster set through an Instagram giveaway in December. I was skeptical about how I would like it. What would this “as seen on TV” brand of pots and pans have that would make me willing to give up the high quality, name-brand cookware I’ve been using. Although I downsized most of my kitchen equipment when we moved out of our sticks and bricks house and into our motorhome, I wasn’t willing to get rid of the Caphalon on Le Creuset cookware I’d been using for the past twenty-five years.

Over the first eighteen months of living in our RV, I grew frustrated by the amount of room my pots and pans took up and how much they weighed! Trust me! There’s nothing quite like making a turn and having the cupboard doors swing open as the pullout shelf flies out, sending pan lids flying! I loved the idea of the Granite stone diamond stackable cookware, so I entered into the giveaway. Chances were that I wouldn’t win. And if I did, I could always donate or sell the set if I didn’t like it.

Surprise! I won the giveaway, and just a few weeks after submitting my information to Granitestone cookware customer service, the box arrived at the RV park where we were staying for a few weeks.

How’s it packaged?

The inner box from the video below shipped inside an outer shipping box. You can watch this short video to see how the rest of the set is packaged when it arrives.

Two Things I Don’t Like About The Lids:

Nothing is perfect, and neither is this set of cookware. There’s nothing that I don’t like about the pots and pans, but there are two things that I don’t like about the lids:

  1. Food can get stuck between the lid and the metal band around the lid. Over the past six months, this has happened a handful of times, mostly with foods where I use the lid to drain liquid from a pan. In every instance, we’ve been able to remove the food particles using a toothpick. You could also avoid this issue by using a colander.
  2. The vent hole in the lid. It’s probably not fair for me to include this as a negative. In fact, the hole prevents foods from boiling over the sides of the pans. Instead, the liquid will release through this vent hole. I will also mention that because of the clear lids, I don’t have foods boil over as frequently as I once did.

Remember nothing is perfect! And in six months of using these pans exclusively, these are the only negatives that I’ve found.

Ten Things I Love About Granite Stone Diamond Stackable Cookware:

  1. Space-Saving: It’s basically two size pans with the granite stone frying pan (one 8″ and one 10″) creating the base for the pots of the same size to sit in. The lids interlock and fit snuggly on top of the pots.
  2. Non-Stick: These pans are non-stick but are also scratch-resistant. This is to say that you don’t need to use as much butter or oil to coat your pan when cooking but you also don’t need to worry about what kind of utensils you use in your pans.
  3. Weight: The full set of these pans weighs about 25 or 26 pounds. While you can find lighter-weight pans to cook with, you don’t want something that’s so lightweight that you struggle to control the heat from the burner or that will become easily dented if you drop it.. And let’s face it, just my large Le Creuset pot weighed in at 17 pounds!
  4. Maillard Reactivity: Don’t you hate when you are browning or searing meat, but you never get a crust on it? Not with these pans. The ability for them to get a good crust is great!
  5. Oven Safe: These pots and pans are all oven-safe to 500 degrees.
  6. Dishwasher Friendly: We don’t have a dishwasher on board, but I can tell you that the pans wash up very easily by hand no matter what I’ve had cooking in it!
  7. Fit for our stovetop: We only have a two-burner stove, but I’m happy to report that two pots (of either size) fit perfectly on the burners without having to put one off the center of the burner. My old pans were not like this.
  8. Induction or regular cooktop: We currently have propane, but we’ve considered getting an induction burner to use outside. And I know that many other models of RVs come with induction cooktops. Should we swap our rig in the coming years, we won’t need to swap our cookware!
  9. NO chemicals: PFOA free and does not contain any lead, cadmium, or harmful metals. You can feel good about cooking at home for your family with these pots and pans.
  10. Stay cool handle: You’ll still need a hot pad for the lid and for the short handle on the large pots, but the long handles stay cool!

Granite Stone Cookware Warranty

If you’re still not 100% sure that these are the pans for you, you may find comfort in knowing that they accept returns up to 90 days from the receipt of the product, excluding shipping and handling.

The Best Cookware for RV Cooking

I’ve found the Granitestone stackmaster cookware set to be a perfect solution for our RV kitchen. The overall quality of the construction still allows me to cook everything I did in my more expensive cookware. They clean up great which is a plus in any kitchen but especially one where you do what you can to conserve water and you don’t have a dishwasher. The flexibility for any cooktop also means they will continue to work great no matter what type of RV we have.

Ready to Find Out More?

Here’s a LINK to the set that we won in the Instagram giveaway. I’m happy to report that I was able to give away, sell, or donate all my other pots and pans and have no regrets about it! This set has worked out great for my kitchen on wheels and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone living on the road or in a sticks and bricks house. In fact, I may be ready to upgrade our bakeware too!

UPDATE: What’s My Opinion After One Year?

I’ve officially been cooking with these pans for over a year now. Aside from the construction of the lids and how difficult they are to get 100% clean, I still love the pans. They are easy to clean, great to cook with, and a major space saver for anyone looking to save space in their kitchens! The only regret that I may have is not making the switch sooner!
